Our story
From two ships to a global network
We grew by keeping one promise to shippers: fixed-day departures, published prices and a person who answers the phone in your time zone.
Founded in Copenhagen with two second-hand vessels on the Baltic–West Africa trade.
First owned terminal opens at Aarhus; weekly fixed-day departures introduced.
First 5,000 TEU newbuild delivered; Asia–North Europe loop launched.
Bulk chartering desk established, adding Handysize to Capesize tonnage.
Online booking platform launched with published prices and online payment.
343 vessels, 260 ports, 121 countries and 45 million tons of bulk cargo a year.

The executive team combines three decades at sea and in terminals with a commercial organisation that has built the customer platform from the quay up.
Joined Südvik in 2004 from the Copenhagen terminal operations team. CEO since 2019.
